After its establishment in 1966, the law firm's first international assignment was in the 1970s when the Firm provided legal assistance to three major Turkish contractors for their projects in Libya and Saudi Arabia. Also in the 1970s, the firm assisted one of the local banks in Turkey for its transformation from a local bank to a national bank. With this unique experience, the firm started working in the banking sector and developed its know-how in this field.
In the 1980s, with the increasing foreign capital investments in Turkey, the firm started providing legal assistance to foreign clients, who had plans to invest in Turkey, by getting them required permits and enabling them to benefit from the available incentives.
In the 1990s, the firm had the opportunity to diversify and expand its practice areas to include domestic and international arbitration. The growth in the firm's arbitration practice led us to establish a separate department for this practice, which also receives international recognition.
In the early 2000s, the firm provided legal assistance to one of the biggest multinational telecommunication companies in relation to the collection of its receivables of few billion US Dollars from a well-known Turkish group. Also in the 2000s, the firm took part in the biggest privatisations in the country – in particular, Erdemir, Tüpraş and Türk Telekom.
